Cutting-edge approach to Dolby Atmos
Award-winning composer and producer Stephen Emmer releases his highly anticipated concept album in Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 multichannel formats. The new project from Dutch composer Stephen Emmer, Maison Melody AM:PM, will be released on March 25th on Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music.
The three distributors are committed to releasing the album in its entirety in its original format: Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 multichannel systems. This release guarantees an immersive listening experience for one of the first neoclassical concept albums.
The album's technical complexity required the work of prestigious industry professionals such as mixer Ronald Prent of Valhalla Studios, winner of the 2021 IBC Innovation Award, and recording engineer Francesco Donadello, recognised for his work on the HBO series Chernobyl and also an engineer on the video game Battlefield 2042. Furthermore, the album has international support from Dolby Atmos Music, embodying the artist's concept of "cinema for the ears."
This continuous-format creation revolves around 10 compositions that embody meditative neoclassical music and explore the relationship between an artist and their space. Thanks to the latest spatial audio technology, the album takes a 40-minute virtual sound tour of Maison Melody, Emmer's home, reflecting a day in the composer's life.
Throughout his musical career, Stephen Emmer has collaborated with artists such as Lou Reed, Chaka Khan, and Patti Austin, and producers like Tony Visconti and Trevor Horn. His last soul album, Home Ground, had a positive impact in the United States, and this album is expected to transcend not only in its composition but also in its technical aspects.
