Stephen Emmer Releases New Music Video For “In Search for Meaning”

Stephen Emmer returns to VENTS with the premiere of his new music video for “In Search for Meaning,” the second track on Emmer’s upcoming album Mt. Mundane, a saga of 15 “cinematic adagios” for orchestra, piano and treble. In creating the album, Emmer set his life to music and in the process, came to terms with a drastic experience: the loss of hearing in his left ear, which posed an existential threat to him as a musician and composer. The video sees Stephen and his team of musicians at work, playing this beautiful and haunting piece.

The project was recorded in 2024 at Abbey Road Studios, with a lineup of over 75 musicians and in collaboration with international music stars such as Anthony Weeden (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Andrew Dudman (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Grammy Award-winning choral conductor Nigel Short, pianist Ben Dawson, and treble Joshua Davidson.

You can find out more about Stephen Emmer on his website, keep up with him on Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram and Spotify and learn more about his foundation, Artists Against Tinnitus here.
